Our Work Is Under Threat—Here’s What You Need to Know

The Rhode Island Choreography Project exists to support dance artists and ensure that the arts remain accessible to all. A new federal executive order (EO 14168) threatens that mission by restricting funding for organizations that promote "gender ideologies". This policy would disqualify us—and many other arts organizations—from receiving crucial support from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), limiting opportunities for artists across our community.

We stand with the Rhode Island ACLU as they challenge this harmful order in court. While we are not currently named in the lawsuit, we are in discussions about joining future amendments and will continue advocating for equitable access to arts funding.

The future of the arts depends on inclusion, not exclusion. We encourage our supporters to stay informed, contact elected officials, and continue uplifting artists and organizations that make Rhode Island’s creative landscape so vibrant.
