Jun Ukita Shepard
JUN UKITA SHEPARD was born in New York City, where she trained in Ballet, Graham, and Horton techniques at Steps on Broadway, Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts, and the Alvin Ailey School. Jun has degrees from Harvard University (B.A., Environmental Science), the University of Cambridge (MPhil, Environmental Policy), and Duke University (PhD, Earth and Ocean Sciences). She is currently a researcher at RMI, a climate change and energy non-profit think tank.
Jun has choreographed for Harvard University, University of Cambridge, and Cambridge Contemporary Dance. She has also been a guest choreographer for Brown University's Department of Theater Arts and Performance Studies (TAPS) and for Duke University's Dance Program. In addition to her choreographic work, Jun is a teacher in Ballet and Horton techniques.
